CD's are too expensive?

If you agree then read on.

Below is a list of shops that deal in secondhand CD's. Most of the shops in the East Anglian area of the UK I have used, my inclusions are based on merit, i.e. I'm one of their satisfied customers. I'm relying on you to only recommend good shops too.

This list continues to expand and is now beginning to include a few internet sites too. Two mail forms have been provided to allow you to recommend shops you have used and to change the details of shops already in the list.

If, like me, you're always on the look out for that elusive import or some back catalogue of a newly discovered artist, then the list could be very handy, especially when moving around the country on holiday or on business.

Due to the increased interest in this site, I've had to close the Wants area. If you are looking for a particular CD, aren't we all, may I suggest you use one of the links, in the list, to dealers who sell on the Internet. Good Luck.

Qualities that make a fine secondhand CD dealer

  1. Good knowledge
  2. Varied selection
  3. Fair pricing

A good knowledge of CDs, artists and imports will lead naturally to items 2 and 3.

I first used a shop as a teenager, when I could buy secondhand records for £2 to £2.50. With the arrival of CD's his prices hovered around £7 for a mint condition CD for several years. The shop had been around for as long as I could remember, until the owner retired and sold off the going concern. It didn't last very long under the new management due, in my opinion, to inexperience and lack of knowledge.
